No "Cheap Cash-In" Dead Space Movie for EA
Dead Blank 2 Art Director Ian Milham says there's been "a lot of discussion" about devising a live-execute movie based along the game but Ea North Korean won't jump into anything unless its surely the Job testament be cooked decent.
In that respect are two animated films based on the Dead Place franchise, Downfall and Wake, but talking about a live-action flick has thus far remained entirely in the domain of fanboys and forums. The property has obvious cinematic potential as a claustrophobic, Exotic-esque horror-fest. And so what's the delay?
"We would love to have a live action film and we've had a slew of word. But one of the reasons Dead Space still exists and is popular is because we've made sure to do everything right," Milham told the BBC. "Then we're doing the same with the picture show, not just a cheap cash-in just to brawl something really worthwhile, thus we'll examine."
Milham also said that the still-future medium of videogames offers greater possibilities than film. "Movies are pulverised, but in games we're still showing masses things," he added. "We're still following opportunities that have ne'er been cooked in front."
PR spin or non, it's a identical smart approach to fill. Game-based movies stimulate a reputation for being bad news and nary enfranchisement is helped past a high-profile motion picture visualize that turns out to be garbage. A Dead Space motion-picture show could be awesome if it's through just, but if it can't be done reactionary I hope EA really does have the wisdom not to do it at all.
